OMG, these two books were great, I had a hard time putting it down. First book you have Stella and Brycen. Stella needs to find her mate before she can never be a human again and thinks she is the last of her clan. You have Brycen who is running from her until he finishes his job. But will they connect to save Stella or will Brycen save her? Will they build a new clan? Second book you have Luke part of Brycen's friend. who runs into Maddie who is blind, but his dragon says this human is his mate. He meets her and finds out that one of the places that they go is hates dragons and anyone connected to them. Can they find love? Can they accept each other for who they are? The only thing that I wish would have been told what happens with the dragon hunters coming after the clan. Hopefully in the book it will finish this story of Luke and Maddie. I received a arc copy for my honest review.
The mood for these books is a cross between thoughful and lighthearted with a tad of hopeful thrown in! In the first book, Stella is seeking her mate who keeps eluding her. Just as she actually has him in her sights, she is singing to him to let her go so she can resume her life. Little does he know, but Brycen is on a mission and when he realizes she is wanting to be released, he refuses. But his friend literally knocks sense into him and Brycen goes to Stella. After a heart stopping adventure that almost ends in two tragedies, things fall into place.
In the second, Luke,Brycen's friend, finds his mate, Maddison, who is blind. Their courting time is interrupted with the return of dragon hunters. When Maddy and Stella head down into the town, and contact is lost with them, all the male dragons go on high alert and instant panic!
Both stories are fantastic and weave you right into the lives of the dragons. I can't wait for more especially for Luke's story!!! (hint hint hint)
I was gifted this story in return for an honest review.
I loved this duo of the first 2 stories of the Dragon Blood series.Back in 2015 I had read them as they came out,but rereading them now was better than the first time I read them because I could take time to really enjoy them.The first book Releasing the Dragon is the story of Stella and Brycen. They are both dragons but she has reached her heat and must mate with her mate or she will be stuck as a dragon and she has found her mate Brycen but he keeps avoiding her as he is on a job.I loved that the book did not spend the whole book with her chasing him till he finally finishes his job and then lets her find him.Nope,he is caught and when he realizes that if she does not mate she will be stuck in her dragon form forever,he has someone else take his job guarding a women who turns out to be really evil. Happily for us the next 3/4 of the book they make love till it triggers her ability to be a dragon and a human,and this is some hot reading!!!All is not smooth sailing they still have a couple of moments when death is facing them but I don't want to spoil it,you will just have to read the book if you want to know what happens,but remember this has a hea ending so they will overcome whatever they have to face.In fact there are quite a few surprises that happen but you will have to read the book to find out what and it is so worth reading,you will love the story and the characters and it will be difficult to put down. The second story is is about Maddison and Luke.We first meet Luke in the first story and he and the clan of dragons that he belongs to.Maddison lives in town and this is the first love story I've read where the heroine is blind.Luke is in town and he is going to the bakery and so is she and as she passes him he catches her scent and his dragon immediately says mate,mate and he realizes that she is his mate and it's only when the clerk shorts her gingerbread cookies and her change that he realizes that she is blind,but he doesn't care,she is his mate!! In this book we also see how mean the townspeople are when it comes to dragons,hunters try and kill them,and then tries to have them eat poisoned food,but when they destroy Maddison's apartment,Luke insists she comes and stays with him because hes worried about the danger to her.In this book also they are unable to keep their hands and other parts off of each other lol. This is really a sweet story,though it is hot hot hot,its still sweet how he takes care of her and how he doesn't care that she is blind.He thinks that when she gets pregnant that she will be able to see but we don't find out so I have to read the next book and see what's happened after this story ends.There are 13 dragons living in the castle so she will have plenty of dragon stories to come and as in these 2 books while we are reading Maddison and Luke's story we are also getting caught up with Stella and Brycens story which I love when authors do this.I would highly recommend this book to any that asked and maybe even some who didn't ask but if you love a really really good story about dragons this is the series for you.I had purchased these books originally in 2015 but did not review them at that time and when the author offered me an advanced reader copy I accepted so that I could give an honest review of the books and I am so glad that I did because reading this for the second time reminded me of how much I loved these stories.Even if you are not a shifter fan,this is still a great love story,but them being dragons just adds another dimension to these books.You will not regret buying this duo except for the fact that then you will want the entire series but thats not a bad thing because the rest of the books are just as good and though each story can be read as a standalone book,its so much better if you read all the books because each book revisits couples we met in previous books!! If I could give both these books more than 5 stars I would!!!
Elianne Adam has fabricated a world where the Dragon Blood people have been persecuted to near extinction. A group of males have banded together to fight dragon Hunters and in Book One the first of these men, Brycen, has found his fated mate, the She-Dragon, Stella. Before the can have their HEA there are complications to overcome and dragon Hunters to defeat.
My very favorite stories are those where the characters spring to life and I am right there, an intimate friend, sharing their thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Elianne has delightfully done this and more❣ With the Second Book of the Series included, she has enabled me to keep tabs of my old friends and then get to know new friends, Luke and Madison are the next mated couple to find each other. They are a mixed couple who have to deal with small town prejudice.
The plots in these stories are quick paced and though short jammed packed. Left completely satisfied, but looking forward to continuing the journey as other men in the "family" they are building find their fated mates.
Am so grateful to have had the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
This is a great storyline. The dragons are perfect in everyway but they are unique and interesting. Good job I want more please. Lol
The two stories here are very good! I really enjoyed reading both of them and would like to read more. I recommend this to anyone over eighteen.
I chose this rating because the books kept me interested. I didn't want to stop. Thank you for a wonderful series.
